FOR LITERACY TAKES THE GREEN FLAG"

Honey Brook, Pa resident and student Kaitie
McCardle is looking to make every lap count during her busy 2009 racing
season. Her drive and dedication has been enhanced with a new program she
has started with the help, advice and backing of school principal Mrs. Susan
Lloyd.
The Laps for Literacy campaign will give back
to the younger members of the community that need some added help in reading
fundamentals. It will encourage students to further their abilities to read
and understand what they are reading. Tutoring will also be available as an
aid to keep these kids interested in what they are doing. There comes a time
when the youth of today need a crutch to move forward and in order to
survive and become successful reading is of the utmost importance.
It doesn't matter if it is a Dr. Seuss book, a
local newspaper or a novel, something is always gained after reading time
and this Laps for Literacy will give these children reading material to help
them get started. McCardle Motorsports will be setting aside a percentage of
their race winnings to help get this project off and running. Laps for
Literacy which is also being tabbed as LFL will find the first donation
after the McCardle # 11 gets it's first checkered of the season no matter
where she finishes.
Family values begin at home and reading can
become a way to keep the family ties closer. Families work on their race
cars to make them better, this foundation can do the same for the
underfunded youth readers of the area. It will have an effect on the Honey
Brook School System, as this will bring in added funds to further their
library inventory and give the students an awareness of what reading can do
for their future.
LFL logo decals are looking to be drawn up
with the purchase of them being directly turned over to the cause. Donations

The Laps for Literacy not only helps the youth of today, but their children
in the future.
